Lord Shiva was extremely angry with all the Pandavas. So, to hide from them, he took the form of a bull and began to sink into the earth, but then Bhima saw him and caught hold of the bull from behind. Then the back part of that bull remained the same and the remaining four parts came out at four other places which we call Panch Kedar.
Third Kedar Tungnath in Panch Kedar:
When Bhima caught the bull form of Mahadev then his arms appeared here. The rear part of the bull was left at Kedarnath while the other three parts, were the face at Rudranath, the navel at Madhyamaheshwar, and the hair at Kalpeshwar. At these five places, temples dedicated to Lord Shiva were built by Pandavas, and Shivling was established. Lord Shiva was pleased with this and freed him from sin.
