How to set up a YouTube Premium family?

YouTube Premium has excellent advantages, so why not share them? Set up a YouTube Premium Family which allows you to share the benefits of your YouTube subscription with up to five people in your household. Here’s how to create a YouTube family and manage family members once you’ve created a family group.

This article assumes that you’ve already set up a YouTube Premium family plan. If you haven’t, you can sign up for the free trial of the YouTube Premium Family plan, but keep in mind that it’s only valid for 30 days before the subscription price is charged to the card you’ve registered.

 Get started with a YouTube Premium family plan.

Unlike creating a TV family group, with YouTube Premium, you have to subscribe to a plan designed specifically for families. YouTube Premium includes YouTube Music Premium and other services.

These instructions apply to YouTube Premium Family in a web browser or on iOS or Android devices. Images were captured using the browser version of YouTube Premium.

1. Go to the site of youtube subscriptionPremium Family and sign up for an account.
2. If you’ve already created a family group through YouTube TV or another Google service, members of your family group will automatically receive invitations to join through YouTube Premium.
3. Once you complete the registration process,you will be prompted to add users to your family group. Select users from the provided contact list or add them by email address.
4. You can skip this process and return to it later if you wish.
5. Users will receive an invitation by email to join your family group on YouTube Premium. They’ll need to click the email to join your family group and access YouTube Premium benefits.
6. Anyone you invite to be part of your family group will automatically be connected to your Google family group. This means that there are other apps and services that these family members can access anytime because they are part of your family group.
7. Once users have accepted the invitation, they can start using YouTube Premium.

 How to manage YouTube Premium sharing with family members?

Although you’re prompted to add family members when you first set up your family group on YouTube Premium, you can add and remove family members anytime.

While it’s possible to switch members of your YouTube Premium family, you can only do so once a year (per family member), so if you decide to switch people, keep these limitations in mind.

1. Sign in to your YouTube Premium account, then tap your profile icon in the top right corner.
2. From the menu that appears, select Paid Members.
3. You can also sign in to your Google account, then go to Com/paid_membershipsin a web browser.
4. On the page of memberships,select Manage Membership.
5. In the menuthat appears, select Edit next to Setting to share with the family.
6. The Members page appears.Select the + icon to add a new Family Member.

Alternatively, you can select the name of an existing Family Member to remove that person from your Family Group.
